My degree is worth nothing

I was told then by Kathy Wallace (enrollment rep.) that there would be no problem with transferring my credits from westwood to CU to continue on and recieve my masters in Architecture, that they were accredited and cheeper ….

I later found out around 2 or 3 months before I graduated from my 21 month program that, Not only had they lied about cost but i cannot transfer my credits anywhere to continue my degree.

Westwood held a school meeting and told everyone that they no longer were accredited but that they should have the accredidation back within 6 months and we would all then be ‘grandfathered’ in and our credits would then become transferrable.

This of coarse, has yet to occur. This upset me very much because then i couldnt figure out what the hell i paid for in the first place. Not only was my degree worth nothing but I am in debt for 35000 dollars (and getting higher) because of it.

I, at first, had the apex loan that they lied to me about and said it would only be at 6% and later turned out to be at 18% interstest rate.

Terrible teaching practices and standards

In these two terms, I managed to develop an opinion of terrible teaching practices and standards, and flat out lying about financial affairs at least in regards to my own. … I’m being charged for Apex loans I never agreed to, and I was heavily harassed by bill collectors….I was encouraged on at least one occasion to forge my own attendance on a day that I had to miss most of as well.

18 percent interest – Not 5 or 6 percent promised

The low interest rate turned out to be 18% not the 5 or 6 % they said and they never put me in the classes i needed for my program so by the time i left i did not know really anything about game design

Drowning in debt

They did not have teachers who taught us anything….I think I read about 2 out of 20+ books that I was forced to buy while there since we didn’t need them for any reason. I have about $60,000 debt and nothing to show for it at all….

For the money I spent, I could have gone to a real university instead of wasting two years there.

The college basically forced people to use SallieMae loans. They told us (my parents had to co-sign) we were not able to use the bank that we chose and had to use the one that they worked with most often. They always seemed to need more money no matter what. I don’t even know where the money went either. They didn’t really inform students what they needed money for and where their money went.

I received no help regarding getting a job at all. Their commercials are so false in that regard. Every day I hope that I can get help. I’m drowning in debt because of this ‘college.’

I pay about $775 a month for the worthless degree I received.
