We will use this site to provide you with updates about our class action suit. Any legal action is a long, slow process, but we’ll give you updates as frequently as we get them. For basic information about the suit, including what we’ve alleged and who is included, please see our FAQ Page. You’ll be able to find anything that is filed in the case on the Documents Page. Case updates will be posted on the blog as they are available, and they will be archived in the category “Case Updates.”
Most people’s first question is, “What do I do now?“ The most important thing is to start fighting back! Tell your family and friends about your experience, talk to potential students about what they might go through, post your stories on consumer sites like Rip-Off Report or Complaints Board, reach out to your local newspapers and tv stations – any way you can think of to stand up and say, “Enough!” Literally hundreds of students have come forward and told us their stories as their first step is fighting back. If you want to add your story to our database, click here for the template that we recommend.
We take our jobs very seriously and are committed to holding Westwood College accountable to all of you who have been victimized by their misleading and deceptive practices. Even if some time goes by without an update on here, we assure you that we are working every single day on ways to ensure that Westwood College repairs the situations they have put you all in.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us any time if you have questions, concerns or comments – we want to hear from you all and will do whatever we can to help.
Wow. I just found this and I’m completely shocked. I went to the Westwood campus in Anaheim, and my 6,000 dollar tuition has more than quadrupled in a year. The interest is like 15/16% and I’m stuck as a “junior” with nothing really under my belt to show for the 2 years I was enrolled. They informed me that the 24,000 dollars had to be repayed before I can finish. Only I can’t get a job that would pay just the interest on this loan. It’s almost ready to hit default and that means I won’t be able to get any job that runs a “credit check”. So now I’m stuck in a catch 22 because I listened to the “awesome” pitch by the counselor. Although the Art Institute of California isn’t any better. The orientation by the “director” of your field tells you up front that you will only get D’s and F’s there are no A’s, B’s, or C’s. They want you to fail so they can collect more money for classes that will have to be retaken. That was 25,000 for 1 semester.
i have the same problem what steps can i take to do something about this. Im in the Downtown Los Angeles area
Otto, if you believe you are a part of the potential class, please continue checking this website for updates. If a class is certified and you are in the class of students that is included, you will be notified and given the opportunity to participate at that time. The suit is nation-wide, so your location won’t have an impact on the case.
